Psaki Verbally Wallops Doocy — Again!

October 22, 2021

Some light rain this late-afternoon Friday here in California’s Central Valley, maybe today’s sprinkles a small preview for the gushers expected statewide this coming weekend.
The West Coast is forecast to experience a pincer-like weather operation, a ‘bomb cyclone‘ coming from the north, and an ‘atmospheric river‘ from the south (sometimes called ‘Pineapple Express’), which means a shitload of rain starting supposedly Sunday afternoon and continuing into Monday.
Flood warnings have been issued all over, especially in the area of recent wildfire ‘burn scars,’ and the dry-drought conditions make the storms even wetter — predicted most rainfall expected in more than two years.
Try and stay dry the chant.

Meanwhile, the Friday news dump isn’t much, outside of the horrific accident from yesterday on Alec Baldwin’s movie set, which is getting full coverage as it should. Baldwin made “30 Rock” explode with life, and this will hurt. A sad, terrible story.

Meanwhile again, in DC Jen Psaki continued to shine brightly in her press briefings and played an encore today with Fox News reporter-idiot, Peter Doocy, who has to be the dumbest, least self-aware asshole journalist (I use that word hesitantly) covering the White House.
Psaki is incredible:

Doocy blubbered questions about why Joe Biden hasn’t visited the Southern border and why isn’t there an immigrant-wall in the Biden agenda — Psaki had to eventually verbally slap the asshole to make him understand.
Details via Raw Story:

When all was said and done Psaki reminded Doocy that when he was president Donald Trump “went to the border, at least once, maybe more,” she told him.
“How did that immigration policy result Peter? That immigration policy resulted in separating kids from their parents, building a border wall that’s feckless, and that cost billions of dollars for taxpayers.”

“The President said last night,” Doocy began his attack, referring to President Biden’s remarks at a CNN town hall Thursday night, “why did President Biden say he has been to the border?”

“Well, Peter,” Psaki replied, explaining that President Biden drove “through the border when he was on the campaign trail in 2008, and he’s certainly familiar with the fact and it stuck with him with the fact that in El Paso, the border goes right through the center of town, but what the most important thing everyone should know and understand is that the President has worked on these issues throughout his entire career, and is well-versed in every aspect of our immigration system including the border that includes when he was vice president, and he went to Mexico and Central America ten times to address border issues and talk about what we can do to reduce the number of migrants who were coming to the border.”

And she added that Biden “does not need a visit to the border to know what a mess was left by the last administration, that’s his view.”

Doocy, still obsessed over what he determined is President Biden’s required presence at the southern border, pressed back hard.
“Does that count as a visit? He said, ‘I’ve been there before,’ you’re saying he drove by for a few minutes, does that count?” Doocy demanded.

“What is the root cause? Where are people coming from when they’re coming to the border Peter?” Psaki, losing patience, asked.
“I’m asking you a question because I think people should understand the context,” Psaki continued, receiving no actual response.
“Okay, I’ll answer it for you,” she said, giving up.
“People come from Central America and Mexico, to go to the border. The President has been to those countries ten times to talk about border issues,” she informed Doocy.
“There is a focus right now on a photo op. The President does not believe a photo op is the same as solutions that may be a difference he has with Republicans.”

Psaki does it again — she’s so right on. From a New York Times profile last month:

The daily White House briefing, once a highly rated staple of daytime TV, rarely appears anymore on cable news.
Sean Spicer and Sarah Huckabee Sanders, two former Trump press secretaries, became B-list celebrities; after nine months on the job, Ms. Psaki has not even rated an impersonation on “Saturday Night Live.”

But a cult of Psaki has proliferated online, where clips of her restrained, if occasionally withering exchanges with reporters have established this once obscure political strategist as an unlikely cultural force.
Her retorts earn “yas queen” praise from liberals, while conservatives jeer her attempts at spin, particularly over the past month, when the confluence of the withdrawal from Afghanistan, extreme weather and coronavirus confusion meant the questions were more pointed and the answers more scrutinized.

She’s a non-liar and speaks truth to idiots.

Meanwhile, a third time — I spied this earlier, and is so shit-creepy I’m just going to post and leave:

Once again, here we are…
