T-Rump And The COVID Spread

January 23, 2022

Another weekend coming to an end this early-evening Sunday here in California’s Central Valley, and, too, the first month of a new year is near-about gone already, maybe a preview of just how quickly 2022 will pass, slingshotting us into 2023 with the speed of a finger snap.
Time seems to have acquired a warped-sprint momentum and we’re all passengers on a bullet train going somewhere pretty shitty fairly fast — yesterday was really this morning.

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the past is just a memory (h/t tweet Balloon Juice):

As the T-Rump appears to be slowly/quickly facing some legal troubles from New York to Georgia to DC and places in between — there’s all kinds of criminal activity of the T-Rump presidency in the news lately, and hopefully, some punishment will be meted-out, though, the likelihood of the orange-faced turd actually going to jail is way down there in reality. Maybe some of his henchmen/lackeys/minions and others might see the inside of a cell, but the main asshole will probably walk, as he’s done all his life.
Even his nasty, idiotic children will most likely walk, too. Trump’s time in office was the most corrupt in all of US history by a long shot,
Yet his way-worst crime by a long shot mostly goes without even a whisper.
The killing of Americans via a heartless, cruel COVID response.

Yet the business of death is in the open — last February and a report that revealed that Trump’s shitty and criminal directions killed nearly 200,000 Americans needlessly (BusinessInsider):

The report, published by the Lancet Commission, excoriated Trump’s handling of the pandemic and general approach to public health.
“He expedited the spread of COVID-19 in the US,” the authors wrote.

“Many of the cases and deaths were avoidable,” they said, adding that “instead of galvanizing the US populace to fight the pandemic, President Trump publicly dismissed its threat (despite privately acknowledging it), discouraged action as infection spread, and eschewed international cooperation.”

They concluded that 40-percent of the US’s roughly 450,000 coronavirus deaths as of February 4 could have been avoided if the country had handled the pandemic similarly to its wealthy peers.
That’s 180,000 lives.

Let that shit sink in for a second or two. Hugely-unbelievable for such an account to be focused on the president of the United States. a never-even-considered thought just a few years ago, and yet the T-Rump is such a more horrible, horrible creature than we figure — bad as bad shit be.

William Saletan at Salon in August 2020 captured probably the most-definite history of the T-Rump’s purposeful, horrifyingly-horribly-botched response to the COVID pandemic, especially in those first early weeks when the shit was just starting to hit the fan.

Go read the whole piece if you haven’t yet, aggravating as dogshit, but a needful, concise understanding of the flow of how a really shitty person, surrounded by many other shitty persons, can actually kill hundreds of thousands of Americans and don’t even pretend to care — the people dying, just in blue zones, no worry.
And in that time, two years ago, T-Rump was lying his ass:

Trump would later claim that he saw from the outset how grim the situation was. That was clear, he recalled, in the “initial numbers coming out from China.”
But at the time, he told Americans everything was fine.
“We’re in great shape,” he assured Maria Bartiromo in a Fox Business interview on Jan. 22.
“China’s in good shape, too.” He preferred to talk about trade instead. “The China deal is amazing, and we’ll be starting Phase Two very soon,” he said.
On CNBC, Joe Kernen asked Trump whether there were any “worries about a pandemic.”
“No, not at all,” the president replied. “We have it totally under control.”
When Kernen asked whether the Chinese were telling the whole truth about the virus, Trump said they were. “I have a great relationship with President Xi,” he boasted. “We just signed probably the biggest deal ever made.”

In the face of it, a pure horror of a person.
And this particular graph encapsulates the deep-inhumane, criminal disgust of the T-Rump:

Trump has always been malignant and incompetent. As president, he has coasted on economic growth, narrowly averted crises of his own making, and corrupted the government in ways that many Americans could ignore. But in the pandemic, his vices — venality, dishonesty, self-absorption, dereliction, heedlessness — turned deadly. They produced lies, misjudgments, and destructive interventions that multiplied the carnage. The coronavirus debacle isn’t, as Trump protests, an “artificial problem” that spoiled his presidency. It’s the fulfillment of everything he is.

Just a small step toward knowing the real horror behind this piece-of-shit who cares for no one but himself. Mary Trump on MSNBC today and her uncle being such an asshole even to his own children: ‘“Donald will throw anybody under the bus if he believes it’s in his best interest to do so. If he believes that it will help him avoid accountability. That’s all he cares about.”

In the overall context of T-Rump’s malfeasance in office makes the air ripe:

And once again, here we are…

Image out front is my favorite of the T-Rump mugs, though, ‘favorite‘ does not mean in any form or fashion, as in, ‘my favorite movie,’ or ‘my favorite song.’ It’s more of an anti-appreciation/like.

And aptly titled, ‘Basic Shapes,‘ by caricaturist/illustrator Chong Jit Leong (and found here), it’s an image that displays the elemental form of a purloined sociopath — a bloated profile of flatulent bile and arrogant ignorance.
