  • August 2002-August 2004: Writer/Editor with the Times-Press-Recorder of Arroyo Grande, CA. Duties included writing, editing and building news pages for A&E, Youth and Community sections. Also feature writer/photographer for Page One pieces.
    February 2002-August 2002:Reporter for the TPR covering breaking news and municipal groups such city councils, commissions and other local, state and federal agencies.
    July 1998-March 2001:Lifestyle Editor at the TPR I originated, edited and laid out stories and pages. I was also the newspaper?s Special Sections editor during this time, creating, writing and editing event/advertising special-section insert magazines, which could run as little as eight pages to as much as 60.
    March 1993-July 1998:Freelance writer with articles, features and stories for local newspapers and magazines. Also during this period, I wrote a first novel.
    April 1975-July 1978: Reporter, The Montgomery Advertiser, Montgomery, AL. First as police reporter and then covering the legal system, local, state and federal courts. I also gain a certain expertise in the field of investigative journalism, especially in white-collar and governmental corruption.

    July 1978-March 1993:Occupied with various non-writing professions, such as construction, retail sales and the food service industry, including a two-year stint as manager of a coffee shop in Pismo Beach, CA. During the mid-1980s, I co-owned and operated a dinner-house restaurant in California’s San Joaquin Valley.
