Shooting

January 8, 2011

In a short aftermath of the shooting incident in Tucson, Ariz., this morning, one blurb cut through the bullshit.
Pima County sheriff, Clarence W. Dupnik, as quoted by the New York Times:

“The anger, the hatred, the bigotry that goes on in this country is getting to be outrageous.
And unfortunately, I think Arizona has become sort of the capital, we have become the Mecca for prejudice and bigotry,” he said.
“There’s reason to believe that this individual might have a mental issue, and I think that people who are unbalanced might be especially susceptible to vitriol.”

Nasty, ugly state of affairs.
Talking Points Memo has a response from Arizona tea-baggers.

Fairly obvious to anyone with any kind of walking-around sense these kinds of incidents will only get worse.
