Another clear and cold morning here on California’s northern coast and if the last couple of days are any indication, this one too should turn out pretty nice.
Weather up here is hard to gauge — we can summer days in January and winter days in June.
Life is a bit loco up here — I like it.
And in all this way-big-pile of DC bullshit the last few days, we all forget about Afghanistan: Army Pfc. Markie T. Sims, 20, of Citra, Fla., was killed in a blast from an improvised explosed device (IED), or roadside bomb, on Dec. 29 in Panjwal in southwestern Kandahar province, the Defense Department said in a statement.
Sims was on his first deployment, and most-likely the last US GI to be killed in 2012 — in 11 years of violent, killing bullshit, 2,173 US soldiers have died, and more to come, sorry to say.
Now back to your regular-scheduled, bullshit-programming.

In the near-final exam on the finish to probably just phase one of the ‘fiscal cliff’ bullshit, the US House okayed a deal worked out by Joe Biden and Mitch McConnell, which will raise income tax rates on households earning more than $450,000 and postpones $110 billion in spending cuts through the end of February, but the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office claims the whole clusterf*ck would add $3.9 trillion to budget deficits over the next 10 years.
See details of the bullshit here and here.
This entire fiasco really doesn’t do much, except to kick the can on further down the pock-marked road: “Nothing really has been fixed,” said Joseph LaVorgna, an economist at Deutsche Bank. “There are much bigger philosophical issues that we aren’t even addressing yet.”
The reality to the problem is the male-bitches in Congress — all assholes down to the very last crack-head.
A prime example is this exchange between Harry Reid and John ‘The Boner’ Boehner last Friday in the freakin’-ass lobby of the White House.
Via Politico:
It was only a few days before the nation would go over the fiscal cliff, no bipartisan agreement was in sight, and Reid had just publicly accused Boehner of running a “dictatorship†in the House and caring more about holding onto his gavel than striking a deal.
Go f— yourself,†Boehner sniped as he pointed his finger at Reid, according to multiple sources present.
Reid, a bit startled, replied: “What are you talking about?â€
Boehner repeated: “Go f— yourself.â€
The harsh exchange just a few steps from the Oval Office — which Boehner later bragged about to fellow Republicans — was only one episode in nearly two months of high-stakes negotiations laced with distrust, miscommunication, false starts and yelling matches as Washington struggled to ward off $500 billion in tax hikes and spending cuts.
Harry can’t handle such language, at least from a cry baby.
And these asshole, sonofabitch-shitheads are supposedly running this country!
And right after the tally, President Obama jumped on Air Force One and jetted back to Hawaii to resume his vacation.
In the midst of all this is Obama’s fall from grace.
In a new survey from USAToday, 50 percent – 47 percent of ‘respondents say the country’s best years are behind us.’
Or in the asshole rear-view mirror
Or it might be there’s just too much maleness — from Fox News (via Mediaite):
Jehmu Greene, Democratic commentator and Fox News contributor, said Tuesday that “what is happening in D.C. is piss poor and pathetic.â€
She slammed House Republicans for forgetting their “serious responsibility of making government work.â€
The blame, she said, “doesn’t end with Republicans†but it does start with them.
Greene cited the news media, freshman members of Congress, and even voters for putting “insurgents†in our legislative body.
Host Rick Folbaum asked Republican Strategist Dee Dee Benkie whether Greene’s characterization was fair, and Benkie responded that it wasn’t.
“Washington is to blame,†she said, not just Republicans.
The one thing Greene and Benkie agreed on, however, was that the “solution is women.â€
It’s time to “get rid of men,†Green said.
“Americans are fed up and they want solution-oriented problem solvers.â€
“I’m with you, Jahmu,†Benkie added.
Michael Tomasky at The Daily Beast examined US history in regards to national policy in such bullshit dust-ups like our current ‘fiscal cliff’ rigamarole, and put it this way:
While most liberals were stewing at Barack Obama yesterday for his “capitulation†on tax rates, I confess that I was feeling philosophical about it, and even mildly defensive of him.
He is negotiating with madmen, and you can’t negotiate with madmen, because they’re, well, mad.
…
We’ll never be rid of these paranoid bloviators, and if no other president could stop them I don’t really see why Obama ought to be able to.
So the US will limp along until we have to pay up and pay back.
