Life in the ether ends today for one of the most-interesting and vital sites around, The Oil Drum  will become history.

Sad state of affairs — I’ll greatly miss the Drum‘s Drumbeat, and more-than-just a wisp of the technical fossil-fuel stories the site carried.

Although there’s the cry “peak oil” is no more, and ‘unconventional oil’ will fuel civilization for years to come, energy production is chaos coupled with bullshit.
The Drum  will become an archive — as I said, sad state of affairs.
