Halloween in the late afternoon and raining — frightful times all around.
An Op/Ed yesterday in the LA Times by Leo Braudy, professor of English and American literature at USC, focused on the ‘monster‘ aspects of this crazed election cycle — key note:
The monster strategy, with its shorthand depictions of dread and terror, has a long history.
When denouncing an opponent, it’s always persuasive to fit him or her into a pre-existing story, preferably a negative one.

Eight days to go for this year-long horror Halloween to end, at least part one of most-likely be many, many parts — the entire freak show in its absolute essence is due to T-Rump, a vile, lying sonofabitch.
Even in the bullshit trick-or-treat of the latest crack on Hillary Clinton emails (not), and T-Rump blubbering about it, he is much worse — since Friday FBI Director James Comey’s ass-letter has dominated the news, yet T-Rump has been left out of the examination.
Newsweek today unloaded on the bastard:
Over the course of decades, Donald Trump’s companies have systematically destroyed or hidden thousands of emails, digital records and paper documents demanded in official proceedings, often in defiance of court orders.
These tactics — exposed by a Newsweek review of thousands of pages of court filings, judicial orders and affidavits from an array of court cases — have enraged judges, prosecutors, opposing lawyers and the many ordinary citizens entangled in litigation with Trump.
In each instance, Trump and entities he controlled also erected numerous hurdles that made lawsuits drag on for years, forcing courtroom opponents to spend huge sums of money in legal fees as they struggled—sometimes in vain—to obtain records.
And that’s just the lede, after examining some of the cases in detail, the finish:
This review of Trump’s many decades of abusing the judicial system, ignoring judges, disregarding rules, destroying documents and lying about it is not simply a sordid history lesson.
Rather, it helps explain his behavior since he declared his candidacy.
He promised to turn over his tax returns and his health records—just as he promised to comply with document discovery requirements in so many lawsuits—then reneged.
As a result, he has left a sparse evidentiary trail that can be used to assess his wealth, his qualifications for the presidency or even his fitness.
Should voters choose him to be the next U.S. president, he will enter the Oval Office as a mystery, a man who has repeatedly flouted the rules.
He has solemnly told the country to trust him while refusing to produce any records to prove whether he speaks the truth or has utter contempt for it.
The scary horror-mask is that T-Rump’s followers do not let facts, and reality, have any play in the game.
Yesterday, the orange-rat head bullshitted a rally-crowd in Colorado,about voter fraud — a follow-up to actual fraud.
In a prime example of the lop-sided, surreal dumb-ass of T-Rump’s voting base happened last week when a 55-year-old T-Rump supporter voted twice.
Terri Lynn Rote didn’t plan on committing criminal chicanery, but the double-dip just “a spur-of-the-moment thing” — the Washington Post
“I don’t know what came over me,” Rote said.
She added she has been a supporter of Donald Trump since early in his campaign, after Republican candidate Mike Huckabee dropped out of the primary race.
Rote told Iowa Public Radio that she cast her first ballot for Trump but feared it would be changed to a vote for Hillary Clinton.
“The polls are rigged,” Rote told the radio station.
