In the wake of yesterday’s surprise of surprises on the Supremes upholding the Affordable Care Act, a lot of people went slightly mad, most of the them from the right side of the nut bowl, claiming all things horrible in connection with Obamacare going live.
The worst: Wing-nut Rep. Jean Schmidt screams with joy at the way-wrong announcement of Obamacare being overturned by the Supreme Court. See the video here.
GOPers compared the Supreme action to the terrorist attacks on 9/11, the 19th-cedntury Dred Scott case, called for armed rebellion, and so forth, then piled high with shit from Rand Paul: “Just because a couple people on the Supreme Court declare something to be ‘constitutional’ does not make it so. The whole thing remains unconstitutional.”

And a most-wonderful blast of hot air from Rush Limbaugh, and hoping he carries through (via HuffPost):
I don’t know.
I’ll just tell you this, if this passes and it’s five years from now and all that stuff gets implemented — I am leaving the country.
I’ll go to Costa Rica.
They’ll need to check your papers, Rush.
Thus, the neatest conspiracy theories are blasting the airwaves, some insane, others just nuts.
One, a nefarious Obama White House plot:
How could John Roberts side with the liberals?
The individual mandate is so clearly unconstitutional — even to a layperson — how could it be?
Kind of like a Vince Flynn book.
Someone got to Roberts.
I bet they got to him and told him he has to vote this way or members of his family — kids, wife, parents, whoever — were going to be killed.
Later this afternoon, it’s going to come out that Roberts was coerced.
A Secret Service agent overheard Obama and Axelrod discussing the Roberts blackmail.
He managed to get them on tape discussing it.
Later this afternoon, the whole story will come out, Roberts will issue his REAL opinion, and Obama and Axelrod will be taken away in handcuffs.
Later in the afternoon, somewhere a dog barked and a baby cried.
Of course, the Supreme Court decision was a shocker — from all the bullshit the last few months, it appeared the ACA would be way-turned down, or at least gutted.
I was doing paper work at the store early on and heard the announcement on NPR, and even the broadcast lady didn’t really understand what had happened — she kept asking if this was correct and boy are we surprised.
Yeah, so was CNN And Fox News.
And this from the comments at Lawyers, Guns and Money: Truly a lovely sight it is. I think perhaps they should stay indoors or else, with all the frothing at the mouth, Animal Control might impound them as rabid dogs.
Must have antidote first.
