Even in a clenched-teeth lie, Decider George is incapable of talking straight.
In a press conference Thursday, amid a gaggle of bullshit about the failing economy, Decider George waded into the current presidential race, offering a back-stabbing, fear-mongering, twisted-history view of Barack Obama’s position during the debate this week of withdrawing US troops from Iraq, but re-deploying if al Qaeda makes more gains there.
“That’s an interesting comment. ‘If al Qaeda is securing an al Qaeda base — yes.’ Well, that’s exactly what they’ve been trying to do for the past four years…. That’s one of the challenges we face, is denying al Qaeda a safe haven anywhere.”

Yesterday, however, Bush Butt II, John McCain, continued to display a hard-headed ignorance of reality — and his particular case, the realities of war.
Bush Butt II McCain, babbling to bleached-brained audiences:
…sharply criticized Obama for his comments at the debate, and suggested the Democratic presidential frontrunner wasn’t aware members of Al Qaeda are already in the country.
“I have news for Senator Obama, al Qaeda is in Iraq and that’s why we’re fighting in Iraq,” McCain said Wednesday while campaigning in Texas. McCain’s press office also released a statement Wednesday stating, “Is Sen. Obama unaware that al Qaeda is still present in Iraq, that our forces are successfully fighting them every day, and that his Iraq policy of withdrawal would embolden al Qaeda and weaken our security?”

And to see and hear McCain’s remarks: He looks and sounds just like Decider George with his cold-hearted, sarcastic wit.
Obama’s cool about it, though, telling supporters yesterday at a campaign rally: “Well first of all, I do know that al Qaeda is in Iraq. That’s why I’ve said we should continue to strike al Qaeda targets. But I have some news for John McCain, and that is that there was no such thing as al Qaeda in Iraq until George Bush and John McCain decided to invade Iraq.”
And he later jumped on Decider George and Bush Butt II:
…saying both have “called for staying the course with an endless war in Iraq and a failed policy of not talking to leaders we don’t like.”
“Americans of all political persuasions are calling for change. The American people aren’t looking for tough talk about fighting for 100 years in Iraq, because they know we need to end this war, finish the job in Afghanistan, and take the fight to al Qaeda.”

And the damn GOP is right up Bush’s ass.
WASHINGTON (CNN) — Republican National Committee Chairman Mike Duncan formally denounced on Thursday the Tennessee Republican Party’s use of Barack Obama’s full name in a recent news release questioning the Illinois senator’s commitment to Israel.”
The statement in question, which was released Monday, said the state party is joining a “growing chorus of Americans concerned about the future of the nation of Israel … if Sen. Barack Hussein Obama is elected president of the United States.”
The ole, and tested “Karl Rove playbook:” Lies and then more lies to confuse, twist-words and point fingers while creating a shitstorm masking any tale-tale signs of the truth.
A release from the Tennessee GOP also showed a photo of Obama in a tribal costume, but refered to it as ‘Muslim garb.’ The entire episode reflects off the debate Tuesday night on a question about Nation of Islam Leader Louis Farrakhan’s possible support of the senator. Obama said he’d not sought Farrakhan’s endorsement.
The news release now includes a clarification that reads, “This release originally referenced a photo of Sen. Obama and incorrectly termed it to be ‘Muslim’ garb. It is, in fact, Somali tribal garb, hence, we have deleted the photo. Also, in order to diffuse attempts by Democrats and the Left to divert attention from the main point of this release — that Sen. Obama has surrounded himself with advisers and received endorsements from people who are anti-Semitic and anti-Israel — we have deleted the use of Barack Obama’s middle name.”
