Life has become back-ass backwards:

Obese people now outnumber the hungry globally, but hardship for the undernourished is increasing amid a growing food crisis, the International Federation of the Red Cross warned on Thursday.

In statistics used to underline the unequal access to food, the IFRC stressed there were 1.5 billion people suffering obesity worldwide last year, while 925 million were undernourished.
“If the free interplay of market forces has produced an outcome where 15% of humanity are hungry while 20% are overweight, something has gone wrong somewhere,” secretary general Bekele Geleta said in a statement.

Seemingly, the further along we go nowadays a lot of stuff just don’t any frickin’ sense at all — although President Obama said taxes ain’t ‘class warfare,’ just math, a lot of dumb-ass shit just don’t add up.
And anything to do with Republicans is near about pure nuts.

At Thursday night’s Republican presidential debate, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) proposed the elimination of all taxes, but then added that the government did need some money to run.
“You earned every dollar, you should get to keep every dollar that you earned,” the candidate said. “That’s your money, that’s not the government’s money.”
“Barack Obama seems to think that when earn money, it belongs to him and we’re lucky just to keep a little bit of it. I don’t think that at all. I think that when people make money, it’s their money.”
Bachmann added: “Obviously we need to give money back to the government so that we can run the government.”

WTF!

Bonkers Bachmann wasn’t the only ones crazed last night: In their first debate, Romney had figures, but Perry had feelings. Romney believed in climate change. Perry wasn’t sure. In their next debate, they were asked what they’d bring to the White House. Perry said he’d bring “the most beautiful, most thoughtful, incredible first lady that this country’s ever seen.” Romney said he’d bring a bust of Winston Churchill.
A horror pox on the US if any of those clowns make it to the White House next year.

Maybe it’s that there’s so much weird, and mostly bad, stuff happening all over, from energy to weather to money and a lot of little elements in between, so much so that the average-Joe American can’t find his obese ass with both hands.
A lot of people know the world is quickly being sucked down the drain, but they just can’t pull all these multidimensional particles together to form a useful picture.
One good reason/problem is that there’s so much dis-information floating around out there — a few short years ago no one knew what ‘peak oil’ is all about, and, not too long ago ‘climate change’ was something on the far fringe.
In fact most-likely, it wasn’t until the IPCC report in 2007 that placed blame on human activity in causing the chaos in the current climate situation, which has worked up to the current debate (non-debate) — in the last four years more people have become aware of the humongous disaster awaiting us.

The international response to humanitarian crises is increasingly seen as “intrusive and disempowering” by communities caught up in disasters, a report on global crises said on Thursday.

“It’s disempowering, and it’s sometimes having an insidious effect of making the need for international interventions even more acute,” Tamminga, head of the Humanitarian Response Index, said.
Often it’s the victims of a disaster who are best placed to save the most lives. In last year’s Haiti earthquake, all the media attention was on the huge numbers of expensive international search and rescue teams.
“Yet probably an even greater number of people were rescued by friends and neighbours – people digging out with no tools and no training, and certainly no media attention,” Tamminga said.
“If the same amount of money spent on the search and rescue teams had been invested in building local capacity for any type of crisis, not just earthquakes but also hurricanes, I’m sure we would see much different and much better results,” he said.

A shitload of money not really helping at all.
