Saturday evening in California’s Central Valley — shit doesn’t have a weekend off in our nowadays.
Some news-angled tidbits:
Kamala Harris is ready for a second debate with the T-Rump (NBC News):
Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign on Saturday said it would accept an invitation to participate in a second debate with former President Donald Trump.
The potential debate would take place on Oct. 23 and be hosted by CNN, Harris campaign chair Jennifer O’Malley Dillon said in a statement.
“The American people deserve another opportunity to see Vice President Kamala Harris and Donald Trump debate before they cast their ballots,” O’Malley Dillon said, adding, “Donald Trump should have no problem agreeing to this debate. It is the same format and setup as the CNN debate he attended and said he won in June, when he praised CNN’s moderators, rules, and ratings.”
[…]
In response to a request for comment on the Harris campaign’s Saturday statement, Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung pointed to a Truth Social post in which the former president wrote, “THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!”
[…]
On Saturday, at a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina, Trump echoed those comments, telling attendees, “The problem with another debate is that it’s just too late. Voting is already started.”
Yeah, right. Maybe a bit of a chicken — bullies are like that:

We’ll have to wait and see. T-Rump might come around if he’s taunted enough, shitheels can get mentally disturbed real fast and do stupid shit — as out in the freaking open.
The US government faces a shutdown on Oct. 1 if funding is not approved by Congress. However, last Wednesday (Forbes): ‘The House voted 202-222 against legislation that would have extended the fiscal year 2024 spending plan through the end of March.‘
All on the fault of the T-Rump’s arrogant ignorance:
Brilliant thinking here https://t.co/kQUwmeUSKm

Details/background Politico Playbook this morning:
When Trump took to social media recently and demanded his party refuse to fund the government until Democrats swallow their nationwide proof-of-citizenship voting bill, Republicans across Capitol Hill privately blanched.
A government shutdown just five weeks before Election Day would be disastrous, the conventional thinking goes, reminding voters of the chaos that has marked GOP governance in the Trump era.
But that, of course, wasn’t Trump’s thinking, according to three Republicans with insight.
The former president had convinced himself that a shutdown over voting laws would usher in a GOP wave, enabling him to not only reclaim the White House but land substantial majorities in Congress.
Trump, after all, had been burned by the 35-day-shutdown over his demands for a border wall at the end of 2018, with voters overwhelmingly blaming him as president for the chaos that ensued. Therefore, he reasoned, JOE BIDEN, Harris and the Democrats would take the heat this time around, since they’re the ones in power.
The whole world will know, however, MAGA/Repubs/T-Rump, are directly, full-steam responsible for a shutdown. Rat-ass House Speaker Mike Johnson is getting dragged by the T-Rump political insanity, and is apparently been trying to talk the Orange Turd off the ledge:
“There have been a number of people, who’ve talked with the president and said, ‘That’s a really bad idea.’ It’s a bad idea for him, frankly,” Rep. MIKE SIMPSON (R-Idaho), a House Appropriations cardinal, told our colleagues. “If you shut down the government a month before the election, that’s problematic.”
No shit.
And the information bubble? Shit-on-a-stick:
This is really embarrassing. https://t.co/xIB4SDXMHy

Embarrassing? Crazy-ass shitty is what it be (The Wrap):
Jackson’s comment came when she was asked for her opinion about the upcoming U.S. presidential election and the possibility that the country will elect its first Black woman to the office.
“Well, you know what they supposedly said? She’s not black. That’s what I heard. That she’s Indian,” Jackson said.
After the interviewer clarified that Harris is biracial, Jackson added, “Her father’s white. That’s what I was told. I mean, I haven’t watched the news in a few days. I was told that they discovered her father was white.”
WTF?
Anyway, Stephanie Ruhle rules — for a long time;
The clip that caused Trump to call one of the most intelligent women in the history of cable news a “dumb bimbo.” That was after he threw 3 ketchup bottles at the wall. https://t.co/gwXCK0qm1f
