Just when you think Republicans couldn’t get any worse, or more manic, they perform feats of unvarnished repulsiveness that literally blows one’s skullcap — they twist and lie about shit observed in plain-sight, and in such obvious-obviousness it’d be way-hilarious if it wasn’t so frightfully dangerous.
Some type of vile, psychotic blindness:

Evidence abounds in how the cicumstances of the insurrection/riot at the US Capitol last January came about and what provoked it — starting from real-time, live broadcasts of the tumult , to numerous videos surfacing hours/days/weeks later showing an even-worse horror than we witnessed on TV that day. Supposedly in a more sane world, a place where reality is first-and-foremost, the story would be self-telling, but way-no.
Republicans are just plain lying through their asses — the latest clip of a war zone via the Associated Press yesterday:
The new videos show a Marine Corps veteran and former New York City police officer wielding a flagpole as he attacks police, as well as rioters crushing another officer into a door as he screams in pain. Still another video shows a New Jersey man punching an officer in the head.
The release comes at a time when Republican lawmakers in Washington increasingly try to downplay the siege, portraying the breach of the Capitol as a mostly peaceful protest despite the shocking violence that unfolded.
…
More than 480 people are facing federal charges in the riot. Four have pleaded guilty so far, including a member of the Oath Keepers extremist group who has agreed to cooperate with investigators.A 49-year-old Indiana grandmother is expected next week to become the first Jan. 6 person to be sentenced.
Anna Morgan Lloyd is pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge for entering the Capitol. Prosecutors are asking for a sentence of probation with community service and $500 in restitution. After the riot, Morgan Lloyd described it on Facebook as the “most exciting day of my life,” according to prosecutors.
She wrote in a letter to the judge filed in court that she didn’t see any violence at the Capitol and was “shocked” when she returned to her hotel and saw the news coverage.“At first it didn’t dawn on me, but later I realized that if every person like me, who wasn’t violent, was removed from that crowd, the ones who were violent may have lost the nerve to do what they did. For that I am sorry and take responsibility,” she wrote.
The powerful video footage was made public as Senate Republicans have blocked a bipartisan inquiry into the insurrection and as an increasing number of House Republicans have defended the rioters and played down the violence of the day.
At a House Oversight and Reform hearing Tuesday, several Republicans questioned Democrats’ efforts to examine the attack and said they should instead be focused on issues like border security or COVID-19 restrictions.
Such shit already, but now GQPers shift their lies and bullshit to another angle — the deep-state-saturated FBI:
Tucker Carlson said on air that the government has admitted in court documents that the Capitol riot was at least partly “organized” by government agents. The court documents do not say that at all. Carlson is not being mocked for asking “questions.”

As if really required, but in this era, way-needed — reality via CNN Thursday night:
Fox News, right-wing websites and Republican lawmakers are promoting a new false flag conspiracy that the FBI orchestrated the deadly assault on the US Capitol.
The haywire theory originated from an article published Monday by Revolver News, a right-wing website. From there, it was picked up by Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who used his opening segment on Tuesday night to slam the FBI, saying it played a role in the January 6 attack.
Several Republican lawmakers quickly piled on. They entered the article into the congressional record, tweeted about the Fox News segment, condemned the FBI agents who supposedly “organized and participated” in the Capitol attack, and demanded answers from the FBI director. But here’s the problem: The underlying article was nothing more than a conspiratorial web of unproven claims, half-truths and inaccurate drivel about perceived bombshells in court filings.
And the source of this shit: ‘Revolver News published its story on Monday. The article fit the site’s bent toward conservative clickbait — their homepage Wednesday featured alleged horror stories from people who took the Covid-19 vaccine, and also said First Lady Jill Biden spoke to her husband in a “b*tchily” fashion.‘
Further ludicrous lunancy unearthed through unhinged-lunatic Louie Gohmert, speaking from the floor of the House of Representatives — per The Washington Post yesterday morning:
“There’s been so much appropriate concern about January 6,” Gohmert said.
“What happened that day. Unfortunately, we don’t know all that happened that day. There are some major, major questions that need to be answered.”
…
“This is scary stuff,” Gohmert said of the sketchy claims made by Carlson.
“This is third-world stuff. This is not only third-world stuff but this is like [Russian President Vladimir] Putin kind of activity.”The sketchy and quickly debunked claims made by Carlson. The Fox News host was elevating a story written for the website Revolver by a former Trump administration official (later fired for links to white nationalists) arguing that “unindicted co-conspirators” referred to in Justice Department charging documents referred to government law enforcement agents. In other words, that the references implied a significant intertwining of FBI agents in the violence that day.
But, as The Washington Post’s Aaron Blake reported, that term wouldn’t apply to FBI agents, and the “co-conspirators” identified by Carlson were at times clearly identifiable.
One, for example, was obviously a suspect’s wife, based on the available information. Marrying someone for a long-game sting operation would be quite a level of commitment.
Just WTF!
However, one must remember with T-Rump and the T-Rump clones of the Republican party, though, a mainstay standard for the GQP for decades, ‘cruelty is the point.’
Although dark times across the land, time of the essence, use it wisely:
