Bright, though, already fading sunshine this late-afternoon Tuesday here in California’s Central Valley. And from all indications while out in the backyard just a while ago taking a couple of tokes on the old pipe, the air was really, real still with hardly any wisp of wind — what breeze there was felt chilled, stipulating it’s still winter.
In less than a few months/weeks/days, it could be triple-digit temps right now (currently at a feel-good 64-degrees), so we should enjoy a silly-short respite from the upcoming horror of the heat.
And beyond weather, too. As I type this shit, according to days to, there are 12 days, 19 hours, 17 minutes and 32 seconds until the T-Rump is sworn in as POTUS — time until the real shit starts officially hitting the fan. (lost three minutes just getting to this spot in this paragraph, now there’s even more less time until … )
Example of the surreal, unofficial horror-shit from this very afternoon — T-Rump bullshit pooping at a press conference:
President-elect Donald J. Trump said on Tuesday that “all hell will break out in the Middle East” if the hostages being held by Hamas are not released by Inauguration Day, repeating the threat four times during a wide-ranging news conference at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
“If they’re not back by the time I get into office, all hell will break out in the Middle East,” he told reporters. “And it will not be good for Hamas, and it will not be good, frankly, for anyone. All hell will break out. I don’t have to say any more, but that’s what it is.”
Asked on Tuesday whether he would rule out “military or economic coercion” to get control of Greenland and the Panama Canal, Trump declined.
“No, I can’t assure you on either of those two,” he told reporters.
Anxiety soothing there — not! Meanwhile, also starting the afternoon of Jan. 20th, get ready for the explosion of overwhelming dishonesty:
New in PN: How Dems should talk about Trump's corruption"They’re going to have to specifically show where the corruption is happening and how it’s affecting your life. You need to explain what the corruption is and why it matters.” — @noahbookbinder.bsky.social
The T-Rump has always been a walking-talking, 100-percent fraudster, in every respect. He lies like breathing, so natural he doesn’t even think about lying and cheating and causing misery. He loves to hate and hurt — been that way for 78 years and some months.
On subject, enjoy a good, insightful question-and-answer session at Public Notice from this morning on taking stock of the in-coming T-Rump, and the overwhelming corruption that’s sure to consume the Oval Office starting day one. Since the Orange Turd has been forever one of the worst, if not ‘the worse‘ liar and fraud-laced crook in all of history, inbred traits fortified by a complete lack of empathy and shame, and in 19-plus days, expect even way-way more.
Noah Bookbinder, president of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW):
“We’re at a place where there is so much talk about corruption and attacks on democracy that I think some of these terms have stopped meaning very much to the American people …If anyone is going to have success calling it out, they’re going to have to specifically show where the corruption is happening and how it’s affecting your life. That’s going to be a challenge. You need to explain what the corruption is and why it matters.”

“Now Trump has, among other things, Trump Media, which is the parent company of Truth Social … It appears that the bulk of his wealth is tied up in stock in that company, and that means if a foreign country or a company or a wealthy person buys a whole lot of stock in Trump Media, they can pretty directly and significantly increase his wealth.”

“In the first Trump administration — at least going into it — there was a public effort to say that he was avoiding conflicts of interest and addressing concerns about corruption. There was a big press conference with a whole lot of folders where Donald Trump said he was handing over control of his businesses to his sons and moving all of his interests into a trust and they were shutting down any foreign deals. It turned out a lot of that was basically a sham.
“Donald Trump held his interest in his companies, he knew what those interests were, he knew what would benefit them, and he repeatedly used the presidency to benefit his properties. There wasn’t a real effort to avoid conflicts or corruption, but there was at least some lip service paid. This time around we haven’t even heard that. That’s distressing. They don’t even seem to feel a need to demonstrate an attempt to avoid conflicts.”
On top of that, his interests have changed. Now Trump has, among other things, Trump Media, which is the parent company of Truth Social. It’s a large, publicly traded company. It appears that the bulk of his wealth is tied up in stock in that company, and that means if a foreign country or a company or a wealthy person buys a whole lot of stock in Trump Media, they can pretty directly and significantly increase his wealth.
Go read the whole interview, on point and interesting, but ultimately sad shit.
Last November, less than a week past the election, Steve Benen, a producer for “The Rachel Maddow Show,” wrote about that in-coming corrupt criminal, concluding: ‘I suspect that if a pollster were to ask Americans whether they’re comfortable with government corruption, the vast majority would say no. And yet, we’re about to experience a brutal elections-have-consequences moment when it comes to the corrupting of the executive branch of the federal government.‘
How does one prepare for such shit?
Our one redeeming factor — T-Rump and his posse are incompetent, bordering on stupid. Maybe expect massive chaos to slow down the corruption.
Crooks on a field trip, or not, yet once again here we are…
