A beautiful, warm Saturday was the attitude today for the second round of anti-T-Rump/pro-democracy “No Kings” rally here in my local town, Merced, set near the center of California’s Central Valley, and once again an emotional treat to be involved with a crowd calling for America to remain America.
Although the event felt less emotional than the ‘No Kings’ in June (posted here), there was still that sweet tingle created off a shitload of great, happy people protesting the antics of horror in every corner of life nowadays. Bongo drums with a bunch of folks chanting about freedom, car horns blaring on the street in response, create a most excellent, optimistic feeling. And there was a great deal of reflection from the cars, trucks, and motorcycles that came whizzing past large sections of sidewalks jammed with protesters with a message — pissed off at the T-Rump with a fuck-you smile.
Probably what brought me close to tears in June was the newness of all the shit. So much hit from a shitload of angles the first few months of T-Rump’s term, it was hard to grasp how gosh-awful the setting of America had become in such a short space of time. The stink has now been felt in the sweltering days of summer — and hence, the being pissed off.
Once again, there were great signs — and the adjustment from the previous event this past June:
People this morning seemed settled in their pissed-off emotions.
A couple of other photographs..
First, a truth to MAGA:
And a legal hope:
Another fantasy, as most-way-likely T-Rump will never see the inside of a jail cell.
Despite the in-your-face reality of the corrupt, cruel T-Rump (and his many ass-dwellers), or not, yet here we are once again …
