Reality will never actually leave George W. Bush alone, the destruction and waste created from scratch will continue to thrive, the denial of accountability a way-shitty sting to America’s self esteem as conjured-up to the world.
One wonders if Americans care to understand — from the History News Network dated Nov. 6, 2008:
In an informal survey of 109 professional historians conducted over a three-week period through the History News Network, 98.2 percent assessed the presidency of Mr. Bush to be a failure while 1.8 percent classified it as a success.
Asked to rank the presidency of George W. Bush in comparison to those of the other 41 American presidents, more than 61 percent of the historians concluded that the current presidency is the worst in the nation’s history.

During the eight years of this blog, I’ve had a few names for George W. Bush — worded him ‘GW‘ for awhile, then ‘The Decider‘ for a long stretch, seemed to fit ironically comfortable, and lately just ‘George Jr.’ (Odd, no extracurricular names for President Obama, just ‘President Obama‘).
Of course, I also used some other names for George W. Bush, like asshole, or arrogant asshole, shithead, lying asshole, etc., etc… And in the last seven years, the ‘little shit‘ (there’s another name I’d forgotten — made use of it often) has been quiet, writing, painting creepy shower scenes of himself, or of Putin, and generally not making himself that big of an asshole in a post-horrifying-presidency.
Now I feel that the ‘Junior’ attached to GW’s name is not appropriate, neither can anything to which I currently speculate — the fucker has outgrown…wait a minute.
‘The Fucker‘ — no, that could mean a fuckin’ shitload of fuckers, and to no one specific fucker. I’d have to lengthen it, to maybe, ‘W-The Fucker,” or some such nonsense.
Any-fucking-way, this past weekend, maybe ‘Ghost George‘ could be catchy for a war criminal-at large, as in delusional.
On Saturday night, ‘Ghost George‘ did a live stand-up before about 700 members of the Republican Jewish Coalition at The Venetian hotel in Las Vegas, with owner Sheldon Adelson in attendance, and without a single hint of irony. There’s no official statement or whatever of the event, just leaks to news people. Here’s three takes on the “Ghost” of horrors past — this morning from Steve Benen at MSNBC:
As best as I can tell, there is no video or transcript available of the former president’s remarks, so we’re relying on attendees’ accounts of what Bush said.
Word-for-word quotes should probably be taken with a grain of salt.
With that caveat in mind, the Republican reportedly said the international framework on Iran’s nuclear policy would be a bad long-term proposition: “You think the Middle East is chaotic now? Imagine what it looks like for our grandchildren. That’s how Americans should view the deal.”
..
The former president also reportedly told his audience, “Pulling out of Iraq was a strategic blunder.”
Hey, asshole — how about pulling into Iraq?
And from Josh Rogin at Bloomberg (One attendee supposedly transcribed large portions of Bush’s remarks):
Obama promised to degrade and destroy Islamic State’s forces but then didn’t develop a strategy to complete the mission, Bush said.
He said that if you have a military goal and you mean it, “you call in your military and say ‘What’s your plan?’”
He indirectly touted his own decision to surge troops to Iraq in 2007, by saying, “When the plan wasn’t working in Iraq, we changed.”
“In order to be an effective president … when you say something you have to mean it,” he said.
“You gotta kill em.”
…
For George W. Bush, the remarks in Vegas showed he has little respect for how the current president is running the world.
He also revealed that he takes little responsibility for the policies that he put in place that contributed to the current state of affairs.
Although anyone with half-a-grain of brain understands the evolution of ISIS — and the overall utter-fragmented chaos of the Middle East spews from the exact-incompetent heart of the scheme that “wasn’t working in Iraq” and nowhere else, either.
Seemingly, best of the news reviews of ‘Ghost George‘ in Vegas comes from this take-away by Kaili Joy Gray at Wonkette this afternoon — a couple of morsels, first the boy’s silence until now:
Instead, as always, he’s left the dirty work to all of his bestest buds, like Dick Cheney and Dana Perino and Ari Fleischer and Karl Rove and every other person who ever served in his administration, so he could kick back, send nudie self-portraits to his sister, and attend the occasional fundraisers for peeps who tell Jews they really should accept Jesus Christ into their otherwise hell-bound hearts.
…
Sure, it’s not like he almost broke the economy for good and got us into an unnecessary war that has somehow failed to spread peace and democracy throughout the Middle East even though that was totally the plan.
Apparently, in Bush’s Bush-addled brain, everything was just fine until Obama took office, even though that is not how anyone in America, save for Bush’s closest friends and family and the idiots at Fox, remembers it, which is why no one is excited about yet another Bush presidency.
Shame and disgrace. Yet ‘Ghost George‘ doesn’t feel right for George W. Bush right now, either — sounds a bit vaporous.
And legitimate for some reason — a name not that…
