End of the work week Friday evening here on California’s north coast — sad-gray again all day, and after reports of another high-death-count shooting, the environment became even way-more sad-gray (CNN):

At least 11 people were killed Friday after a shooter entered a building of the Virginia Beach Municipal Center and started firing indiscriminately, Virginia Beach Chief of Police Jim Cervera said in a news conference.
The suspect is also dead, the chief said.

Reportedly, the shooter was a longtime public utilities worker, but obviously also a “disgruntled employee,” who fired “indiscriminately” with a semi-automatic pistol and a rifle, killing and wounding people on multiple floors of the municipal building. The weapons were lawfully obtained: ‘The suspect is believed to have purchased the firearms legally, according to the investigators’ preliminary information.’

As if on a pre-cue and in a speech yesterday at the VTEX Day conference in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Barack Obama admitted the US is crazy-dangerous with guns.

“Some of you may be aware, our gun laws in the United States don’t make much sense.
“Anybody can buy any weapon, any time without much, if any, regulation,” he said.
“They buy it over the internet.
“They can buy machine guns.”

Also in remarks about his administration, the former (and greatly-missed) president also pulled a righteous, bad-burn on the T-Rump:

“Nobody was jailed.
“We made mistakes. We were not perfect.
“But we maintained integrity and we were able to show that it is possible to achieve great power without corruption,” Obama said.

Enough is enough, and it’s enough to make me want to way-scream out loud, and for a way-long few minutes, too.
