I’m scheduled for eye surgery tomorrow at the VA Medical Center in Fresno so it might be a while before I post again here. Vision is somewhat important in writing, even with blog writing, located maybe at the bottom of the literary-totem pole.
The procedure I’m to undergo is considered supposedly no big deal (Mayo Clinic):
Cataract surgery is a procedure to remove the lens of the eye and, in most cases, replace it with an artificial lens. A cataract causes the lens to become cloudy when it is typically clear. Cataracts can eventually affect vision.
Cataract surgery is performed by an eye doctor, also called an ophthalmologist. It’s performed on an outpatient basis, which means you don’t have to stay in the hospital after the surgery. Cataract surgery is very common and is generally a safe procedure.
Seemingly, my vision for the last couple of years has really deteriorated, especially in the right eye, which will be the subject of the surgery tomorrow as mentioned above — in about six weeks or so, after the right eye heals, as I’ve been informed by my doctors, maybe surgery on the left eye will take place.
I was to start the operation last February, but I came down with COVID right in the nick of time and the whole thing was postponed. It took months to get rescheduled.
Yet as life continues…
Anyway, I don’t know how one-eyed hunt-n-peck typing will work in any long/even short run in posting. The world will continue to get worse and shit will continue to hit the fan.. I guess, you can add medical shit to the writer’s-type block/creative impulses I posted about on Sunday — blog life, so it goes.
And let “Weird Al” usher us out of here for a spell:
Under the knife, or not, yet once again here we are…
