Bright sunshine on California’s north coast, this horrid early Wednesday — the air is dark and vicious, though.
Garrison Keillor nailed it this morning at the Washington Post:
Mr. Trump was the cruelest candidate since George Wallace.
How he won on fear and bile is for political pathologists to study.
The country is already tired of his noise, even his own voters.
He is likely to become the most intensely disliked president since Hoover.
His children will carry the burden of his name.
He will never be happy in his own skin.
But the damage he will do to our country — who knows?
His supporters voted for change, and boy, are they going to get it.

Reality of T-Rump actually taking the White House is right-now in the surreal-nightmare, words-fail stage of accommodation — a fright I’ve felt since the Bern flame-out has become a real horror. In the last month or so, I think this fright was muffled by optimistic polling for Hillary, which turned out to be as if totally fucked.
Or something…maybe end to the great American experiment?
Garrison’s subject matter is the hugely-magnified ignorance of the T-Rump voter. Although the nominal Republican voter has always seemed to cast ballots in favor of shit that ultimately harms them — WTF! They have no idea the shit-storm awaiting their lives.
Yet in this miserable season, gender ethics went into the shitter — via Slate just a while ago:
According to CNN, 53 percent of white female voters voted for Donald Trump.
…
What leads a woman to vote for a man who has made it very clear that he believes she is subhuman? Self-loathing. Hypocrisy. And, of course, a racist view of the world that privileges white supremacy over every other issue.
…
Of course, the biggest and saddest reason white women chose Trump over Clinton is simple: racism.
Trump tried to pit straight white men against everyone else — women, people of color, people in the LGBTQ community, immigrants — and white women decided they didn’t want to vote on the side of “everyone else.”
They wanted to vote on the side of white men.
White women decided that defending their position of power as white people was more important than defending their reproductive rights, their sexual autonomy, their access to healthcare, family leave, and child care.
White women bought into Trump’s lies about immigrant rapists and decided they’d rather have the respect of their angry white fathers, brothers, and husbands than the respect of literally everyone else in the world.
Horrifying how many people in the US haven’t the decency, common sense and heart to do the real, right thing.
A surreal quality to life’s screenplay — playing against reality, I figured, watching Hillary’s speech, as she attempted to frame T-Rump’s blather earlier about unifying (via HuffPost): ‘“I hope that he will be a successful president for all Americans,” Clinton told staff and supporters at the New Yorker Hotel in Manhattan, saying Americans “owe him an open mind and a chance to lead.”‘
An ‘open mind‘ about fucking-what?
Just hate it — this shit even dampens yesterday’s marvelous win for Prop 64.
Bummer…
