In this insane era of constant shit-storms, even the most-conscientious, working-to-be-astute person can forget major events — yesterday, my outlet into the ether, ‘Compatible Creatures,’ turned 10-years-old.

Although the anniversary has been on my mind on-and-off this whole year, the flush of the reckless, nutcase era of the T-Rump, with a frightful, breakneck 24/7 episodic news cycle, and it’d slipped my mind completely — until late last night, and like, Shit.

Thinking of the birthday event, I had wanted to do a bonanza post (whatever that would be) for the occasion with deep-thoughtful musings on the harried-quick decade, and how emphasis on subject matter has really changed, although not really.
Most of posts for the first few months focused primarily on war — especially the horrid disaster in Iraq.
Of course, that was the official Operation Iraqi Freedom, not the ISIS version, which was created by Operation Iraqi Freedom.
And of course, too, just a couple of months before my blog debut, this:

Senator Barack Obama of Illinois, standing before the Old State Capitol where Abraham Lincoln began his political career, announced his candidacy for the White House on Saturday by presenting himself as an agent of generational change who could transform a government hobbled by cynicism, petty corruption and “a smallness of our politics.”
“The time for that politics is over,” Mr. Obama said.
“It is through. It’s time to turn the page.”

And at about the same time, the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) issued its landmark, most-noted report:

“Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, as is now evident from observations of increases in global average air and ocean temperatures, widespread melting of snow and ice, and rising global mean sea level.”
“Most of the observed increase in globally averaged temperatures since the mid-20th century is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic greenhouse gas concentrations. Discernible human influences now extend to other aspects of climate, including ocean warming, continental-average temperatures, temperature extremes, and wind patterns.”

Sad, to say Obama’s page-turn seems to have been flipped back — climate change the biggest human threat, and coming closer, more than a real-big calamity.

Anyway, my way-first post, April 24, 2007,  titled ‘Word,’ pretty-much summed the period, and even with a flash forward to the nowadays where ‘words‘ have become gibberish, or maybe ‘unintelligible,’ too:

In an age where events are known so fast and everybody just about everywhere can instantly become aware of every corner of the globe even the smallest little word can carry a big weight.
And the little word here today is “palliate,” which means to try and make a wrong or an offense seem less severe, mitigate the circumstances.
And palliate is just what the Bush Black House is now doing with the announcement that Scott Bloch, Bush-appointed head of the US Office of Special Counsel, will lead a sweeping investigation into Karl Rove’s politicking with taxpayer money and breaking a ton of federal laws while doing it.
Bloch himself was recently investigated by the IG of the Office of Personnel Management for pushing a right-wing agenda down the throats of federal employees.
So all Bloch is doing is an obvious attempt to try and bury Rove’s political wrongdoing by creating and intense investigation and then, By Golly, there was no indication of any lawbreaking on Rove’s part.
Bush/Cheney/Rove are just trying to palliate the whole mess.
Lie, lie, and monkeys can fly.

Ten years later, supposedly monkeys can fly…
