Bright sunshine and warm this late-afternoon Monday here in California’s Central Valley — this most likely our last day for a long while with somewhat cooler temperatures (at least in the morning), Tomorrow the reckoning begins with the heat expected to be quick, day-by-day turned up to reach 110 degrees by Saturday.
We’ll be getting something of that ‘heat dome’ now most pulsating in the Southwest US (and the South, too). Summer has arrived with a fracking hot bang.
Meanwhile, the offshoot Republicans can’t/won’t govern, just play word games with shit hot-button non-issues such as ‘woke,’ especially creepy assholes like Ron DeSantis, whose presidential campaign is starting to implode, and the whole piece-of-shit operation will fully drown in way-jibberish woke humiliation:

‘Woke‘ is been around a while, just silly Republicans are mismatching the meaning — from Forbes early last month: ‘“Woke” is now best known as a negative political buzzword used to describe anything deemed too liberal or progressive—like brands that support Pride Month, The Little Mermaid live-action film and teaching about race in schools—but the word has a long history, originally meaning to be aware of racially motivated threats.‘
Definition via Merriam-Webster: ‘aware of and actively attentive to important societal facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice); often used in contexts that suggest someone’s expressed beliefs about such matters are not backed with genuine concern or action; reflecting the attitudes of woke people; disapproving : politically liberal (as in matters of racial and social justice) especially in a way that is considered unreasonable or extreme.”‘
And from the Urban Dictionary:
When this term became popularized, initially the meaning of this term was when an individual become more aware of the social injustice. Or basically, any current affairs related like biased, discrimination, or double-standards.
However, as time passed by, people started using this term recklessly, assigning this term to themselves or someone they know to boost their confidence and reassure them that they have the moral high grounds and are fighting for the better world. And sometimes even using it as a way to protect themselves from other people’s opinion, by considering the ‘outsider’ as non-woke. While people that are in line with their belief as woke. Meaning that those ‘outsiders’ have been brainwash by the society and couldn’t see the truth. Thus, filtering everything that the ‘outsider’ gives regardless whether it is rationale or not.
And as of now, the original meaning is slowly fading and instead, is used more often to term someone as hypocritical and think they are the ‘enlightened’ despite the fact that they are extremely close-minded and are unable to accept other people’s criticism or different perspective. Especially considering the existence of echo chamber(media) that helped them to find other like-minded individuals, thus, further solidifying their ‘progressive’ opinion.
Just like asshole DeSantis, it’s hard to keep a straight lying face.
As if for instance, last March right-wing nutter writer Bethany Mandel, who co-authored “Stolen Youth: How Radicals Are Erasing Innocence and Indoctrinating a Generation,” which purports to expose the “woke agenda,” lost her shit trying to define ‘woke‘ — she got nailed on the InterWebs:
However, ‘woke‘ is just another shiny object to divert the public’s eye from how shitty Republicans actually are in governing — the main strike against them is their asshole-idiocy in keeping government operational — and push such words in a plot to allow disinformation to flood the airways — from the Guardian this morning:
A federal judge in Louisiana ruled last week that a wide range of Biden administration officials could not communicate with social media companies about content moderation issues, and in a lengthy opinion described the White House’s outreach to platforms as “almost dystopian” and reminiscent of “an Orwellian ministry of truth”.
The ruling, which was delivered by the Trump-appointed judge Terry Doughty, was a significant milestone in a case that Republicans have pushed as proof that the Biden administration is attempting to silence conservative voices. It is also the latest in a wider rightwing campaign to weaken attempts at stopping false information and conspiracy theories from proliferating online, one that has included framing disinformation researchers and their efforts as part of a wide-reaching censorship regime.
Republican attorneys general in Missouri and Louisiana have sued Biden administration officials, the GOP-controlled House judiciary committee has demanded extensive documents from researchers studying disinformation, and rightwing media has attacked academics and officials who monitor social media platforms. Many of the researchers involved have faced significant harassment, leading to fears of a chilling effect on speaking out against disinformation ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
The Republican pushback against anti-disinformation campaigns has existed for years, alleging that content moderation on major platforms has unfairly targeted conservative voices. Many tech platforms have instituted policies against misinformation or hateful speech that have resulted in content such as election denial, anti-vaccine falsehoods and far-right conspiracy theories being removed – all which tend to skew Republican. But research has found that allegations of anti-conservative bias at social media companies have little empirical evidence, with a 2021 New York University study showing that these platforms’ algorithms instead often work to amplify rightwing content.
Just closing with some Talking Heads and not of the DeSantis shit-type either, and the consequences inbred with assholes:
Asleep at the wheel, or not, here we are once again…
