Late-afternoon Thursday here in California’s Central Valley. Sunny and a bit blustery right now, though, overcast and chilly for most of this morning. A lot of cloud cover lately, which keeps the heat down.
And outside, beyond the apartment walls America has become some type institution. In the midst of a crippling, deadly pandemic, comes a story crafted solely for the age — Obamagate.
If you’ve been following the story, it’s an old one of the ‘unmasking’ of Michael Flynn from 2017, and the bottom line is the entire affair is an attempt to divert attention from the amazingly-horrible response to COVID-19, while lay some bad shit on Joe Biden, and Obama. The whole affair is dead in the water, except it’s being pushed by T-Rump’s people, Fox News, and every right-winged nutcase on the horizon. (Good-detail read on the whole shit by Adam L. Silverman last night at BJ).
This afternoon The Washington Post also included this craziness:
And in a remarkable turn Thursday, Trump urged Congress to call Obama to testify and even suggested those involved — including Biden and two longtime Trump antagonists, former FBI director James B. Comey and former CIA director John Brennan — go to prison.
“I’m talking with 50-year sentences,” Trump said in an interview with Fox Business Network that aired Thursday.
“It’s a disgrace what’s happened. This is the greatest political scam, hoax in the history of our country. . . . People should be going to jail for this stuff. ”Trump added, “This was all Obama. This was all Biden. These people were corrupt — the whole thing was corrupt — and we caught them.”
Really way-unbelievable. Surreal in context of the virus and all its many, many ramifications. So surreal, in fact, trending on Twitter is “YOMAMAGATE,” which has turned the T-Rump into some way-funny, and depressingly-sad humor. Satire is still alive, and flourishing in the T-Rump’s face.
I spied the story about ‘YOMAMAGATE’ this morning at Crooks&Liars, and there’s a whole collection of zingers there like the one below, which made me way- laugh:

And this one, too.
If the T-Rump wasn’t such a menace to all mankind…
In context, Sarah Cooper is a comedian and author who has created some hilarious videos on T-Rump’s press-conference babble and has been making a wave on the InterWebs.
Really, really funny, but also kind of creepy-scary in reality. So twisted is our story today, the humor coming off the T-Rump is dark, (83,000 Americans dead in two months) and despite the gut-laughs there’s apprehension mixed with anxiety — still funny as shit, though, and brilliant:

An interview with Cooper in the Guardian today, and she discussed her InterWeb fame, and also included this insight into the T-Rump’s idiot-horror: ‘Why do the videos resonate so much? “Coming out of my mouth, you realize how much more stupid it is — I’m not sure whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing!” she says. But Cooper thinks there is something else going on here: her videos reassure people that what comes out of the president’s mouth really is as crazy as it sounds.‘
I always knew the written transcripts of T-Rump’s blathering really revealed the gibberish, nonsensical pattern more than hearing the asshole actually speak, but Cooper is correct — the guy is fucking nuts, everything he says is senseless, and because he’s POTUS, dangerous as shit.
And not dangerous, but still senseless…
‘Authentic…’
