A Bit More Then A Day…

January 18, 2021

Once again sunny and warm this Monday afternoon here in California’s Central Valley — Martin Luther King Day, celebrated on the third Monday of each January, and this year, three days beyond what would have been his 92th birthday.

And what of the T-Rump today? An asshole adminstration being an asshole, but gets a rebuke:

Despite it all and at this late date, the T-Rump persists (via the Guardian‘s live blog):

No matter that his claims of election fraud have been rejected by dozens of courts, members of his administration and Republican leaders.
Congress certified Biden’s electoral victory, after Trump supporters stormed Capitol Hill in a bloody riot with the aim of preventing them from doing so.

In a preview of the internecine Republican battles to come, Trump is reportedly furious at the 10 Republicans who voted in favor of his impeachment.
But he is also directing his anger at the House minority leader, Kevin McCarthy, a staunch ally of the president who voted against impeachment but said that Trump bore some responsibility for the violence on Capitol Hill.

Haberman adds: “Associates who’ve spoken with Trump say he’s used the same vulgarity he used about [vice-president Mike] Pence to describe McCarthy, saying he bowed to pressure with his House floor speech.”

And T-Rump supporters are bone-deep embedded with the same shit — and they’re gone johnson. CBS News has an indepth look at these wankers, it’s the shits. One fer instance:

“There’s no way that me nor many, many, many, many others would ever recognize this last election,” said Couy Griffin, a county commissioner in New Mexico who founded a group called Cowboys for Trump.
Griffin is one of several Trump supporters featured in the new CBSN documentary “Hindsight Is 2020: An Unprecedented Election.”

“I will never accept a Biden presidency,” he said.

He’s also currently under arrest for his part in the Jan 6 insurrection.riot.

Meanwhile, what would MLK make of today?

And further (per The Hill this afternoon):

Former first lady Michelle Obama released a fiery condemnation of Trump and the rioters that also mentioned the “traitorous flag.”

“Like all of you, I watched as a gang—organized, violent, and mad they’d lost an election—laid siege to the United States Capitol,” she said. “They set up gallows. They proudly waved the traitorous flag of the Confederacy through the halls. They desecrated the center of American government.”

She noted that “once authorities finally gained control of the situation, these rioters and gang members were led out of the building not in handcuffs, but free to carry on with their days.”

Now down to 1 day, 19 hours, 42 minutes until…
