In just a week and a day, the T-Rump’s entire program has gone to shit in a wire basket. Not only has he been impeached a second time for inciting an insurrection/riot, he’s lost bankers, golf tournaments, lawyers, a majority of Americans want him gone, and those left in the White House loathe his sorry ass.
Now there’s call to cut him out of “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York,” sequel to the way-popular “Home Alone” of 1990, though, the snip/replacement has him already taken out

Star of both flicks, Macaulay Culkin, gave his blessing to the cut:

Details/background via Vanity Fair this afternoon:
Why was Trump in the film in the first place? Many hotel owners grant permission to film in their spaces without making a cameo.
Trump, it turns out, required it.“The deal was that if you wanted to shoot in one of his buildings, you had to write him in a part,” Matt Damon told the Hollywood Reporter in 2017.
“Martin Brest had to write something in Scent of a Woman — and the whole crew was in on it. You have to waste an hour of your day with a bullshit shot: Donald Trump walks in and Al Pacino’s like, ‘Hello, Mr. Trump!’ — you had to call him by name — and then he exits.
“You waste a little time so that you can get the permit, and then you can cut the scene out,” Damon said.
“But I guess in Home Alone 2 they left it in.”The film’s director Chris Columbus later confirmed that’s what happened in his case as well, but they left it in because when they initially screened the movie, people “cheered” at the cameo.
By 2021, there are many who would still cheer at the cameo, and many more who would love to cut out the scene as well as the past four-to-five years.
But expunging this eight-second scene would probably wound his ego worse than Mitch McConnell turning on him, or Mike Pence declining to overthrow a democracy, or the whole double-impeachment thing.
It would be a blow to his ego, like the PGA Championship’s recent snub.
He always did and likely always will bristle at the most surface-level things.
And this bit from the Guardian‘s story on the same subject: ‘Columbus added that Trump’s cameo was a popular move: “When we screened it for the first time the oddest thing happened – people cheered when Trump showed up on screen. So I said to my editor, ‘Leave him in the movie. It’s a moment for the audience.’”‘
Also in a similar vein today, the son of a co-creator of ‘Captain America” is pissed about T-Rump and the MAGA insurrectionists at the Capitol last week — Neal Kirby, son of Jack Kirby, who with Joe Simon created the comic hero in 1941, says Captain America has been disgraced in a statement to CNN.
Via the Guardian today:
“Captain America has stood as a symbol and protector of our democracy and the rule of law for the past 79 years,” Kirby wrote.
“He was created by two Jewish guys from New York who hated Nazis and hated bullies. Captain America stood up for the underdog and, as the story was written, even before he gained his strength and process from Army scientists, always stood for what was righteous, and never backed down.”While watching footage of the storming of the Capitol on 6 January, he wrote, “I thought I noticed someone in a Trump/Captain America T-shirt! I was appalled and mortified. I believe I even caught a quick glance of someone with a Captain America shield. A quick Google search turned up Trump as Captain America on T-shirts, posters, even a flag!
“These images are disgusting and disgraceful. Captain America is the absolute antithesis of Donald Trump. Where Captain America is selfless, Trump is self-serving. Where Captain America fights for our country and democracy, Trump fights for personal power and autocracy. Where Captain America stands with the common man, Trump stands with the powerful and privileged. Where Captain America is courageous, Trump is a coward. Captain America and Trump couldn’t be more different.”
Kirby said his father, who died in 1994, and Simon, who died in 2011, would have been “absolutely sickened by these images”.
What can you say, everything T-Rump is appalling and disgraceful…
